Physical Health
What is physical health or what do you consider physically health to be? To be considered healthy in todays standard’s one must be apply to apply these physical characteristics such as body, size and shape, susceptibility to disease and disorders, body functions and recuperative ability. ITs even been said that it involves the ability to preform daily activities such as work, cleaning, brushing your teeth. When these things are taken from us what is left? And the true questions are asked, is it about quality of life or the quantity of life.
Physical health is a very important aspect of my life. I belief is we don’t have a good base of physical health, it can severely affect other dimensions of health due to the fact that all the dimensions are intertwined with each other. By using a simple questionnaire like the one in the book, Health and Wellness 5th ed. pages 6-9, we can asses ones physical health through behaviour and attitude. The score I received for the quiz was 30, this score represents i have a good physical health but it also represents I’m at risk of poor health. The strengths of having a very strong immune system and having a body that heals very quickly is not enough to have a very good level of physical health. I barely get sick, through out all of elementary school and high school, i only missed 2 weeks of class due to illness. The weaknesses that I discovered are that I don’t receive enough sleep on a regular bases that causes me to burn out easily and have the sense of always being tired. Another weakness is have the lack of time to exercise 30 mins a day 3 to 4 times a week. I plan to improve these weakness bettering my time management skills to allow for more sleep and exercise. This is one of my weakest dimensions and needs the most improvement.
